The TARTA Next Advisory Committee has spent the last 18 months helping the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) chart a path for the future of transit in northwest Ohio.
This committee of community leaders and transit professionals, which has helped TARTA through its first system redesign project in decades, will hold its final meeting Wednesday, September 7 from 4-5:30 p.m. at TARPS (130 Knapp Street, Toledo).
Committee members will discuss their findings from speaking with constituents about public transportation, and give TARTA leadership guidance on the next steps to take in changes to the system.
TARTA Next has evaluated transit services and existing ridership. Using data and suggestions from customers and community leaders, TARTA Next is laying the groundwork for an easier, faster, and more efficient mode of transportation for residents of Lucas County and Rossford.
TARTA provides a vital link in the Toledo metro area to jobs, education, health care and other destinations. It enables everyone in our community to have access to transportation regardless of their age, race, physical ability or economic background. TARTA is underway with exploring and introducing new initiatives and service options that will enhance convenience and customer experience while moving our region into the future of public transit.
