Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Transportation Security Administration, masks will continue to be required on board all Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) vehicles and in TARTA’s downtown Toledo Transit Hub through May 3.
The mask mandate applies to all travelers on buses, flights, trains and in transit hubs, and had been set to expire April 18.
TARTA has taken several steps to ensure the safety of passengers and employees over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, including increased sanitation measures on vehicles and making masks and hand sanitizer available for free on all buses.
As customers continue to make their way to jobs, medical appointments, and other essential destinations, they will be able to depend on TARTA to go above and beyond ensure their safety.
TARTA provides a vital link in the Toledo metro area to jobs, education, health care and other destinations. It enables everyone in our community to have access to transportation regardless of their age, race, physical ability or economic background. TARTA is underway with exploring and introducing new initiatives and service options that will enhance convenience and customer experience while moving our region into the future of public transit.
