A Day in the Life of TARTA Careers
TARTA offers paid training (including CDL certifications), excellent benefits and paid time off.
TARTA services include fixed-line, TARTA Flex, and TARPS, providing millions of passenger trips annually throughout the Toledo region. Fixed line bus operators are responsible for getting 60% of TARTA riders to work and hundreds of Toledo Public and charter school students to class. Additionally, TARTA’s paratransit service, TARPS, provides nearly 300,000 trips annually throughout the TARTA service area for ADA-eligible passengers.
To uphold the mission of serving our community, applicants must meet the following requirements for all TARTA positions:
- A background worthy of public trust; a background check free from infractions and driver’s license suspensions
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age (18 years of age when applying at TARPS)
- 2 years driving experience with a valid license (any vehicle)
- Safe driving record (less than 2 points)
- Legally able to work in the United States
