How to Ride the Bus

Fixed-Route Service

Boarding the Bus

  • Passes can be purchased at the following locations:
    • EZfare App (Available in the iPhone App StoreGoogle Play and online)
    • Cash fare is accepted and Day Passes can be purchased on the bus.
    • No cash refunds. If paying by cash, any remaining balance will be returned on a ticket that can only be used for future TARTA transportation
    • TARTA Transit Hub (612 N. Huron St., Toledo)
    • Seaway Market (1707 Cherry St, Toledo)
    • Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union (1441 Dorr St, Toledo)
  • TARTA schedules are available at the TARTA Transit Hub. (612 N. Huron St., Toledo)
  • Please have your fare or electronic pass on the EZFare app ready before you board. A friendly reminder: any attempt to ride without paying is a punishable crime.
  • When the bus stops, allow passengers on the bus to exit first.

Riding the Bus

  • Please allow seniors and persons with disabilities to use the seats designated for them. It’s the decent thing to do, and it’s the law.
  • No smoking, eating or drinking on any TARTA vehicle or in any TARTA station.
  • Bringing your own music? Don’t forget your headphones. If we can hear you, you’re too loud.
  • No shoes, no shirt, no service.
  • Illegal or unlawfully possessed firearms and/or other weapons are prohibited in or on any TARTA vehicle or property.

Getting Off the Bus

  • Passengers wishing to get off the bus at a particular stop must do so by pulling the "cord" located along the windows on the sides of the bus just after the previous stop is passed. 
  • Wait for the bus to stop before standing.
  • When possible, exit through the back doors to allow new riders to board quickly.
  • Wait until the bus leaves before crossing the street so you have a clear field of vision.
  • No passenger stops are made in construction zones.
