During Ohio Loves Transit Week (Feb. 11-17), Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced grant funding to support $106 million in local transit projects across the state, more than $3 million of which was awarded to the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA).
These funds will help facilitate projects to make the ride easier for customers, enhance rider experience and make public transportation a viable option for more northwest Ohioans. Among the projects funded by this grant:
“This funding award includes crucial investments in key projects that will improve the customer experience, and address workforce mobility needs in our region,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. “From replacing buses today, to exploring service enhancements and expansion opportunities tomorrow, these funds will help us create the public transit system our community deserves.”
