The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is proud to name Brittany Ford and Tarik Kadri to its Board of Trustees.
Ford, a representative of Ottawa Hills, joined the Trustees in May, and Kadri, a Lucas County Representative, was present with the Board for the first time Thursday.
“Brittany and Tarik each have a history of both professional success and public service, and we are proud to have their leadership and vision on our Board of Trustees,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. “The improvements to our mobility system in recent years would not have been possible without the tireless work of a dedicated group of trustees. Team TARTA members continue to work hand-in-hand with these community leaders as we make our transit system better for the people who depend on it every day, strive to attract new riders and expand our services.
“We are fortunate to add Brittany and Tarik’s voices to those who are already working so hard to make sure that everyone can enjoy what this area has to offer, regardless of financial or mobility challenges.”
Ford is the co-owner of Language Equity and Access Partners (LEAP), which was founded to support language access, immigrant and refugee inclusion and community engagement. She is also chair of marketing and a founding member of Vibrant Ohio, a statewide office focused on immigrant and refugee welcoming programs. She previously held posts with the Lucas County Department of Planning and Development and the Zepf Center.
Kadri has practiced law in the Toledo area since 2009. He earned his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2003 after receiving a Bachelors Degree in Finance. Kadri has served on the board of the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo and held leadership posts in the Toledo Bar Association’s Juvenile Court Committee for 6 years.
“Both of our new trustees have shown a commitment to bettering the lives of people, which is right in step with TARTA’s mission and vision,” said TARTA Board of Trustees President Mary Morrison. “We could not be happier to have them with us. Together, we can work to ensure that, through the growth we’re experiencing, our system remains equitable and forward-thinking while serving the needs of the public.”
