TARTA Clears Path To Voting With Free Rides On Election Day

Northwest Ohioans head to the polls Tuesday, November 4, and TARTA wants to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.

TARTA fixed route, TARTA Move paratransit and TARTA Flex on-demand services will be free all day on Election Day as part of the Voter Ready with TARTA campaign. TARTA’s Board of Trustees approved the action Thursday.

At tarta.com/news/voteready, customers will find resources to help them locate their polling place and find which route can get them there.

“Fare-free rides on election day are TARTA’s way of removing barriers, so everyone’s voice can be heard,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. “This is a priority for us because it is a priority for our customers, and something they asked for. It is so important that everyone has the opportunity to participate in this process, and no one should miss their chance to do so because they can’t get there.”

TARTA can also get early voters where they’re going for regular fare. Routes 3 and 19 reach the early vote center at Lucas County’s Shared Services building (3737 W. Sylvania Avenue). Early voting for this election in Lucas County runs through Sunday, November 2.

TARTA customers can find which bus can get them to their polling place at tarta.com. Paratransit customers can make reservations for TARTA Move by calling 419-382-9901.
