TARTA's Express Service Connects You To Jeep Fest Parade

TARTA is thrilled to once again serve as the Transportation Partner for Toledo Jeep Fest, and to celebrate Toledo’s biggest event by helping Jeep-fans enjoy the festivities without fighting for parking.

TARTA’s Jeep Fest Express will run Saturday, August 8 to connect passengers with the All-Jeep Parade. Those who want to enjoy the parade and everything else Jeep Fest has to offer can steer around parking fees by parking at Franklin Park Mall or Starr Elementary School (3230 Starr Avenue, Oregon) and taking a $3 round trip ride downtown on TARTA.

Direct trips from both Franklin Park Mall and Oregon to the downtown drop-off point – near the corner of Jackson and Huron streets – begin at 8:30 a.m. and run every 30 to 60 minutes until 1 p.m. Trips back to the park-and-ride locations from downtown will depart every 30 to 60 minutes until 4 p.m.

TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski spoke about the service April 30 in Promenade Park at a press conference that included several big announcements about this year’s Toledo Jeep Fest celebration, which brought more than 100,000 people to downtown Toledo last year.

Koprowski also discussed TARTA’s Youth Summer Blast Pass, which allows free rides on the shuttle and all other TARTA services for pass-holders ages 6-19 from May 25 through August 31.

Toledo Jeep Fest runs August 7-9 in downtown Toledo and this year celebrates 85 years of Jeep. The All-Jeep Parade is just part of the event, which also includes a vendor midway, kids and family activities, an indoor Jeep exhibit at the Glass City Center, and a Jeep-themed four-mile run and one-mile walk.

Among announcements about this year’s celebration made by Toledo Jeep Fest officials April 30:

  • Jeep will serve as a co-presenting sponsor for the first time in the event’s 10-year history, joining co-sponsor Mercy Health

  • Veteran and off-roading YouTuber Brad Kowitz will serve as the grand marshal of the parade

  • Jeep Fest will stage a “takeover” of Party in the Park at Promenade Park on Friday, featuring a Jeep-themed drone light show and a Garth Brooks tribute band
