Let TARTA Shuttle Take You To NAMIWalks
Mental health is crucial, and this Saturday, May 16, getting to one of northwest Ohio’s largest community support events will be easier than ever.
NAMIWalks Greater Toledo spreads awareness of mental health issues and available services Saturday at Glass City Metropark (1505 Front Street, Toledo), and TARTA is running a convenient $3 round trip shuttle from parking at The Docks (26 Main Street, Toledo) across the street to the event.
Shuttles begin running every 15 minutes at 9 a.m., and will also run from the Market Hall at the Metropark back to the parking area every 15 minutes. The final shuttle from the event to the parking lot scheduled for noon.
“TARTA isn’t just a way to get around, we’re a part of a great community,” said TARTA Deputy CEO Rick Bailey. “This event is one of the many that demonstrates how the members of that community care about each other. Those who struggle with mental illness need to know they are not alone and that there is support available, so we’re incredibly happy to play a role in making that support more accessible.”
More than 500 participants and 60 teams are already registered for NAMIWalks Greater Toledo, representing more than $100,000 in donations raised.
For those taking TARTA’s fixed route service, routes 2, 10 and 12 run near Glass City Metropark.
Registration for the event begins at 9 a.m., with the walk scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon. Participants have the option of a 1-mile walk or a 3-mile walk. For more information on NAMI Walks or available resources for those struggling with mental health, visit namiwalks.org/greatertoledo.
