Grant Paves Way For New, Updated Bus Shelters
New and updated shelters will greet passengers at many bus stops in the TARTA system in the next few months, thanks in part to a grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Workforce Mobility Program.
The state announced a $1.36 million grant to TARTA for 27 new bus-stop shelters and the renovation of 28 existing shelters. The award was part of $13.5 million in funds distributed to support transportation to rural and urban work centers through 19 of the state’s transit authorities.
Locations for new and refurbished shelters will be determined in the next few weeks.
