Paving Your Road to Essential Destinations

TARTA provides interconnected, regional public transit services to seven communities in Lucas County, Toledo, Maumee, Waterville, Ottawa Hills, Oregon, Sylvania, and Sylvania Township and Rossford in Wood County. Many Toledo-area elderly and disabled residents living outside the TARTA service area do not have access to affordable transportation options. Therefore, TARTA Mobility Management is here to create and coordinate partnerships among area human services and transportation providers in the Toledo region to expand the range of viable mobility options specifically for seniors and persons with disabilities.

TARTA continues to establish partnerships in the Toledo area to expand accessible transportation options with a coordinated transportation service network to achieve connectivity where gaps exist. Resources are to include a variety of options through several public, private and volunteer transportation entities to enhance mobility and promote overall wellness.

All language assistance services for Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority programs and services, including paratransit functional assessments and paratransit eligibility appeals, are provided to the public at no charge.

Coordinated Plan

The Locally Coordinated Human Service Transportation Plan for the Toledo Urbanized Area 2026-2030 was prepared by the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) and the Lake Erie West Regional Council. The purpose of the plan is to identify community resources for transportation. Coordination of health and human service providers and public transit has been demonstrated to reduce costs and increase access to services for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and other transportation disadvantaged populations.

The plan is a Federal Transit Authority (FTA) requirement for Specialized Transportation § 5310. Organizations who wish to apply for § 5310 funds, must participate in the plan process. Additionally, for projects to be eligible for § 5310 funds, they must be included in the plan. The § 5310 program aims to enhance the mobility of seniors and individuals with disabilities. The program provides grant funds to non‐profit organizations, government authorities, and public or private transportation providers. The § 5310 funds can be used for vehicle purchases, mobility management services, technology improvements, infrastructure improvements, and operating costs.
