Bus stop locations will be changing on some fixed-line routes as part of the Bus Stop Optimization Project, which is designed to increase the efficiency of public transit in northwest Ohio. TARTA’s transit services personnel are evaluating bus stops and usage on every route – adding and removing stops – with the goal of placing bus stops one-quarter mile apart on many routes, depending on population density.
This detailed look at stop usage complements TARTA Next, which is TARTA’s first system-wide redesign effort in decades.
If a stop is being removed, a notice will be placed on the bus stop sign and remain up for 30 days before that stop becomes inactive. Information about stops being added or removed will also be placed on TARTA’s social media channels and tarta.com/routes.
If you have a question or concern about the Bus Stop Optimization Project, a stop that you use, or you believe an additional stop would be beneficial in your neighborhood, contact TARTA’s customer service personnel at
419-243-7433 or email [email protected].
