Life as a TARPS driver is anything but predictable. Destinations change, passengers change – every day is different. Those traits are what drew Jackie Rockward to TARTA. It was a chance to do something a little different. Something that would keep her guessing in the best way possible.
“I like a challenge,” she said. I love the fact that I’m out there and I love the scenery. I like that I go different places and meet a lot of different folks.”
Rockward has been a TARPS operator for 15 years and says she truly enjoys her job. The best part: the people who get on and off her bus every day.
“They’re a lot of fun. I’ve got good relationships with my passengers.”
Jackie Rockward – TARPS operator
Some of them have commended her for her hard work and dedication. It’s part of the reason why Jackie is February’s TARPS Operator of the Month – not to mention two months of perfect attendance and recommendations from her supervisors.
“I’m not shocked, I’m good at what I do,” she jokes and adds that it’s nice to be recognized.
When Jackie isn’t exploring the region by way of TARPS, she tries her best to stay busy.
“I dance. I’m in two-step, ballroom – I do competitions so I’m very active.”
Thank you, Jackie for your work ethic and commitment to team TARTA!
