As the winter months approach, those stopping by the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority’s (TARTA) downtown Transit Hub Tuesday will have a little extra to shield them from what lies ahead.
TARTA personnel will give away 100 sets of gloves to passengers, beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, as part of Hands at the Hub. The lightweight gloves will be distributed one to each passenger on a first-come, first-served basis.
“It’s wonderful to have the Hub open again, so we want to take every chance we can get to let customers know how much we appreciate them,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. “The last two years have been about deepening our commitment to customer service and doing everything we can to give the people who rely on public transportation a system that they can depend on.”
Since reopening in September, the facility has served as a host for informational pop-ups for TARTA’s comprehensive redesign project – TARTA Next – in addition to providing shelter, information, and restrooms for riders. In the near future, TARTA will partner with community organizations to host Hub of Hope events, which will connect customers with resources offered by those organizations.
About TARTA TARTA provides a vital link in the Toledo metro area to jobs, education, health care and other destinations. It enables everyone in our community to have access to transportation regardless of their age, race, physical ability or economic background. TARTA is underway with exploring and introducing new initiatives and service options that will enhance convenience and customer experience while moving our region into the future of public transit.
