The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is participating in Ohio Loves Transit Week (Feb. 11-17) by offering a helping hand to the people who depend on public transportation.
All TARTA fixed-route, paratransit and TARTA Flex services will be free of charge on Tuesday, Feb. 13 to celebrate Ohio Loves Transit Week, which is facilitated by the Ohio Public Transportation Association.
“Public transportation agencies in Ohio put so many people in touch with where they need to be every day, and we are excited to make this gesture to our own passengers to celebrate Ohio Loves Transit Week,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. “This wonderful event highlights everyone who works so hard to make public transit work for all of these communities.
“Investment in mobility can change lives by expanding options for jobs and healthcare and so many other aspects of life. We look forward to the coming improvements in our system that will make the ride easier and more affordable.”
Ohio Loves Transit Week is designed to celebrate transit workers in the state and the impact that they have on the daily lives of customers. Ohio’s transit agencies provide more than 59 million trips each year.
TARTA leadership and trustees will travel to Columbus during Ohio Loves Transit Week to meet face-to-face with state legislators and speak about the importance of public transportation and the value of properly funding transit.
