As the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) continues to grow and improve, it is vital to have the right people in the right leadership positions to ensure that those improvements are sustainable and customer-focused.
TARTA is fortunate to be driven by a talented, dedicated team of professionals, and we are proud to announce recent promotions for three members of our team.
Gary Doran, who joined TARTA as Lead Supervisor in 2005 and Mobility and Scheduling Planner in 2021, was recently named TARTA’s Manager of Planning and Service Development. He has over 30 years of experience in the transit industry, starting as an Operator for the Utah Transit Authority in 1993.
“TARTA’s in better shape than it has been, and I feel like it’s improving all the time,” Gary said. “It’s great to be a part of that and to be playing some small part in getting people where they need to be every day.”
Fran Miller has been named Transportation Manager. Fran joined TARTA as a bus operator in 2013 and has also served as Road Supervisor, Station Office Supervisor and Lead Station Supervisor. She has been an indispensable part of our transportation team for more than a decade.
“I believe TARTA is a great place to be,” said Fran. “There is plenty of room for advancement with hard work.”
Antonio Schiavone has been named Director of Maintenance, after serving in that role in an interim capacity since August of last year. He had previously worked at TARTA as a Maintenance Supervisor and was also in supervisory posts at Sofo Foods and Gerdau Steel.
“I’ve always been involved in maintenance, so I’m excited to take the next step,” Antonio said. “I’m lucky enough to work with some great individuals on the extremely talented maintenance team we have here, and I want to do what I can to help that team keep our fleet running.”
As TARTA continues its focus on workforce development, contact the Human Resources department to find out what tools are available to help you progress in your career in transit.
