Position Title: Night Service
FLSA Status: ATU
Reports To: Director of Maintenance
The Night Service employee performs routine checks of bus operations and ensures that the buses are prepared for service. In addition, the Night Service employee is responsible for towing and recovery, and various other servicing duties. The Night Service employee must be proficient in all duties of the Cleaner. The Night Service job description includes all the requirements found in the Cleaner description.
Checking coolant, fuel, and transmission fluid levels
Cleaning and performing basic maintenance on exterior of bus
Cleaning interior of bus in preparation for daily operation
Pulling and emptying fare boxes
Alerting supervisor to more complex mechanical problems
Perform PMI’s and minor mechanical repairs under Instructor Supervision
Assistance Call Response
Driving wrecker to service site
Lifting and towing inoperable buses
Jump-starting stalled buses
Moving materials in garage using forklift
Using computer system to log completed repairs and requisition more complicated repairs as necessary
Remove trash and snow
Clean work area and equipment
Perform other duties as assigned to gain experience and knowledge of more complex mechanical and electrical components
