The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is evaluating its next steps as it expands to cover all of Lucas County, and wants to hear from Oregon residents.
In preparation for extending public transportation services into Oregon, TARTA will host an open house Thursday, April 27, from 3-7 p.m. at the Oregon Branch Library (3340 Dustin Road).
TARTA personnel will walk attendees through proposals for fixed route, TARPS paratransit and TARTA Flex microtransit service offered up by the TARTA Next redesign. Feedback will be collected on how best to serve the area, and conversations will continue between TARTA leadership and community leaders to pave the way for a final plan.
“Every recent service added to TARTA’s system has come directly from talking to customers, residents and community leaders, and that’s something we’re excited to continue,” said TARTA Chief External Affairs and Communications Officer Sam Melden. “In order to bring service to the Oregon community in a way that makes sense for everyone, we need to listen to the community and build on what we’re told.
“We’re looking forward to connecting the people of Oregon with employers, doctors and other destinations in Oregon and all of Lucas County. It is also important that we be deliberate in our process, draw feedback from the residents it will benefit, and establish this service the right way.”
Service to Oregon would join several other recent changes based on the TARTA Next redesign and expansion project, including:
