More than just driving a bus, a Coach Operator is the frontline of TARTA service to YOUR community. If hired, part of the duties includes: providing safe, timely transportation and excellent customer service; arriving on time at stopping points along a specific route assigned to each driver; and assisting passengers along their journey. If you are not a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holder – we can assist you. If you are chosen for employment with TARTA, simply obtain a CDL Learner’s Permit—by passing a written test through the BMV—and we’ll offer training from that point forward so you may earn your CDL. To uphold the mission of serving our community, applicants must meet the following requirements for all TARTA positions:
A Class B, CDL with passenger and air brake endorsement are required. If you wish to obtain the above-mentioned license, please contact Human Resources for more information.
